Sudan Army General Abdel Fattah seeks Algerian support in resolving conflict
Algeria affirmed its solidarity with Sudan, condemning the forces seeking to destabilise the nation.
Sudan's Sovereign Council Chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Sunday visited Algeria in a diplomatic effort to garner regional support in resolving the ongoing conflict in the country.
The visit aimed at securing Algeria's active participation in the diplomatic process addressing the challenges faced by Sudan.

Abdel Fattah engaged in discussions with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, covering a spectrum of issues vital to both nations.
During their meeting, Abdel Fattah congratulated President Abdelmadjid on Algeria's recent election to the United Nations Security Council, emphasising the importance of Algeria's role in the international arena.
In a joint press conference following their discussions, Abdel Fattah asserted that Sudan is currently facing a regional and international conspiracy, involving some Sudanese individuals conspiring against their people.
Despite these challenges, President Abdelmadjid expressed unwavering confidence in Sudan's ability to overcome the crisis with the support of its people, God, and allies from Arab and Islamic nations.
Abdel Fattah underscored his keenness on Algeria's involvement in any initiatives aimed at addressing the Sudanese crisis.
"We are delighted to have Algeria present at any table for discussion and dialogue, whether African or Arab. (Algerians) are champions of truth, and we seek peaceful solutions that will enable us to overcome this ordeal," he said.
Algeria's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in June 2023 for a two-year term within the African Group is seen as a significant development, highlighting the growing influence of the country in regional affairs.
President Abdelmadjid, in his response, affirmed Algeria's solidarity with Sudan during these challenging times, condemning the forces seeking to destabilise the nation.
The visit and joint statements indicate a strengthened alliance between Sudan and Algeria as they work towards finding peaceful solutions to the crisis, drawing on their shared commitment to truth and stability.
